v7.6.2 builds on the plain-language and visual work of the last two releases with a set of new capabilities and a wide sweep of fixes. You can bring PDFs straight into your vault, Console now answers from your own writing and shows its sources, the Library can narrate a thread through a cluster of related ideas, and Existential now runs on 16 GB Macs. Underneath, two large rounds of fixes smooth the surface and steady the machinery.

New ways in

Drop a PDF into your vault alongside your notes and the Oracle converts it to Markdown and reads it in like anything else you have written, so research and reference documents become part of what it knows.

Console answers from your own writing

When you talk with the Oracle in Console, it now retrieves from your vault as it answers and shows you the notes it drew on, so a reply in its voice carries its sources with it.

Follow a thread in the Library

From the Library's graph you can ask the Oracle to follow a thread through a cluster of related ideas, and it tells you the through-line it sees in a sentence or two.

Runs on 16 GB Macs

The install floor is now 16 GB, so Existential runs on more machines. Roomier Macs gain a three-stop dial — fast, balanced, or most thorough — so you can choose how hard the Oracle thinks.

More for your team, and a clearer Settings

Your team's shared knowledge now draws on both your own writing and the reference material you keep, and only ever what you have chosen to share. Settings gains a new Uninstall control that removes Existential from your machine, with a clear choice to keep your notes or remove everything, and the Updates section now stays visible on every install, with its controls enabled or disabled to match how you run the app.

The documentation continues its member-facing rewrite, with the internal material removed and clearer help throughout.

Fixed and improved

Two large rounds of fixes land in this release: a pass over the cohort's feedback and a pre-release audit of the whole app. Together they cover:

  • Console and voice: citations that render as clean links, the most recent turns kept in view, and the working-edit tag held back from the reply.
  • The Library and reasoning: more accurate "why this weighs" explanations that reflect a whole note, concept clusters that stay tidy, and steadier rendering.
  • Calmer controls: the everyday actions that are simple to reverse now read as calm, while genuinely destructive ones stay clearly marked.
  • Exchange and sharing: content shared into your team stays within it, team-unavailable and other states surface clearly, and shared excerpts keep their formatting.
  • Reliability under the hood: stuck background work is now reclaimed and reported so it cannot hang, and a number of ingestion and packaging edges are tightened.
  • Accessibility and wording: an accessible label on the feedback box, a calm page when you reach an address that has no page, an honest version label on development builds, and a sweep of clearer copy.
