v7.6.1 is a polish release on top of v7.6.0's plain-language overhaul. It gives the whole product a warmer, calmer visual identity, smooths a handful of rough edges found in the last walkthrough before the cohort, and steadies the machinery underneath.

A warm-monochrome facelift

The app has a new visual identity. The cool grays are gone, replaced by a warm bone-and-ink palette; the corners are a touch sharper; a self-hosted typeface replaces the previous sans throughout; and the real Existential logo and wordmark now sit in the sidebar. A new amber warning tone joins the palette, so cautions read as cautions rather than errors. The colors and type are defined once as semantic tokens, so the surface stays coherent everywhere — the categorical hues that carry meaning, like epistemic categories and status, are kept as they were.

The documentation site now wears the same theme, the same typeface, and the same logo, so moving between the app and the docs reads as one product rather than two.

A documentation site for members

The documentation is now written for members. The product is named Existential throughout, the introduction is now titled Intro to the Oracle, and a Back to app link sits quietly at the bottom of the navigation.

Quality-of-life fixes

The last walkthrough before the cohort surfaced a short list of rough edges, all now fixed:

  • Your daily check-in reflection and any change to how you're holding a shared note now appear under your view in Activity, where you'd expect them.
  • The health readout reports memory truthfully on macOS — no more false low-memory alarm on a perfectly healthy machine.
  • The "this reads like your own writing" suggestions on Home are capped to a few at a time, with a Show more if you want the rest.
  • Marking a note as reference material right after you capture it now sticks: the Oracle applies it once the note finishes being read in, instead of quietly dropping it.
  • Share now in Exchange asks you to confirm before anything is published to your team.

Behind the scenes

A larger round of work went into the parts you don't see directly. The Oracle warms its model before the first import, so nothing stalls on a cold start; corrected spellings now flow through to the tags and connections it writes back; and short, meaningful acronyms are kept as concepts. The shared inner-mind Oracle that runs in the cloud gained a memory guardrail so it stays within its means, more truthful status reporting, and a fix that de-duplicates the back-links it records when a passage is shared. And cutting a release like this one is more reliable than it was.
